Kudos to your party and political platform. In this age of dark cultural and political animosity.....its a refreshing and enlightening approach to a society that needs a good healthy evolutionary change....
Keep up the great work....
From: freedomsex.org May 16, 2005 Subject: Three Cheers for The Sex Party!
Dear Sex Party,
We are absolutely thrilled to learn about your movement. Sexual freedom is perhaps the most widely violated of all human rights, even in those societies deemed to be "advanced". Sadly, history has taught us that this repression will not go away by itself. Rather, it will require the work of dedicated and passionate activist groups like yours to secure sexual rights for future generations.
Here in the United States, we face an extremely difficult battle for sexual freedom. Despite being called the "land of the free", many Americans know that in today's world we must often look north of our border for progressive inspiration. Perhaps your efforts will have a positive and motivating effect on the fledgling U.S. sexual liberation movement.
We have added a link to The Sex Party on our What You Can Do page to help spread awareness and build support for your party, and we wish you all the best with implementing your sex-positive platform.
Sincerely,

From: C M May 16, 2005 Subject: Good Job
I really wish that there were a party like this in Ontario. I just turned 18, and I am not looking forward to having to vote for any of the parties in this area. Is there any chance that your party would be expanding eastward? Is there anything I can do that would help to get a chapter in southern Ontario?
Sincerely,
CM
From: B F May 14, 2005 Subject: Good luck...
Just read about the Party on the Grope & Fail...
Good luck... hope at least one of you gets elected...
And after the election, please contact me. I am very interested in what you are doing and stand for and have similar views to yours...
Time to expand to Ontario?
Well, let's see...
Best wishes,
BF
From: TD May 13, 2005 Subject: running as a candidate
Dear Sex PartyI am interested in running as a candidate . I found your platform most fitting to my sexual philosophies and I am strongly committed to changing the sexual approaches of our current
society. I would like to make the issue of sex a more approachable and comfortable topic amongst our citizens. However, not in a censored manner, rather a realistic and modern manner. In particular I found your views on
nudism related closely to my personal values. Not to mention I have acquired some local support encouraging my campaign.
Please let me know if it is not too late to attempt a riding and as this is my first attempt at being a candidate, provide me with some information regarding the process.
Sincerely
TD
From SW: May 5 Dear Sex Party people
I agree completely with the platform points presented on your webpage. I
live just over the line in Van-Kensington so I won't have the temptation to
vote for Ms. Tink in Van-Kingsway (a difficult choice - I'm an active member
of the Green Party and so I'd vote for our candidate).
I would add a point. In line with the recent court decisions regarding equal
marriage for gays and straights, I think it's time to also legalize
long-term relationships involving more than two adults. Obviously I'm not
thrilled by the examples of the Fundamentalist Church of the LDS in
Bountiful, with patriarchal subjugation of women as a foundation, but
polygamous and polyandrous relationships should be protected, the property
rights and access of parents to children of those relationships guaranteed,
and the other benefits of family recognized to those non-traditional
families.
And you can count me among your supporters among the clergy, if you wish.
Blessed be

From James: April 2 Re Circumcision
Regarding your suggestion I contribute a policy statement on circumcision I would like to submit the following declaration for your consideration. I have worked with NOCIRC as it's Vancouver representative for more than 10 years and think that NOCIRC's declaration below might be used, (with permission) as a sex party policy statement on circumcision.
What do you think?
James
Declaration of the First International Symposium on Circumcision
Adopted March 3, 1989
Anaheim, California
We recognize the inherent right of all human beings to an intact body. Without religious or racial prejudice, we affirm this basic human right.
We recognize that the foreskin, clitoris and labia are normal, functional body parts.
Parents and/or guardians do not have the right to consent to the surgical removal or modification of their children's normal genitalia.
Physicians and other health care providers have a responsibility to refuse to remove or mutilate normal body parts.
The only persons who may consent to medically unnecessary procedures upon themselves are the individuals who have reached the age of consent (adulthood), and then only after being fully informed about the risks and benefits of the procedure.
We categorically state that circumcision has unrecognized victims.
In view of the serious physical and psychological consequences that we have witnessed in victims of circumcision, we hereby oppose the performance of a single additional unnecessary foreskin, clitoral, or labial amputation procedure.
We oppose any further studies which involve the performance of the circumcision procedure upon unconsenting minors. We support any further studies which involve identification of the effects of circumcision.
Physicians and other health care providers do have a responsibility to teach hygiene and the care of normal body parts and explain their normal anatomical and physiological development and function throughout life.
We place the medical community on notice that it is being held accountable for misconstruing the scientific database available on human circumcision in the world today.
Physicians who practice routine circumcisions are violating the first maxim of medical practice, "Primum Non Nocere," "First, Do No Harm," and anyone practicing genital mutilation is violating Article V of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights: "No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment..."
From Aspasia: April 25 -Another Reason to Love Canadians
Greetings,
I came across your party's website via Tristan Taormino's blog entry about it. I have to say it filled my heart with such joy to see an official political party called The Sex Party. I'm jealous too. Why doesn't America have one? Answering that can turn into a 300 page rant on America's Puritanical heritage, but whatever. I wish The Sex Party all the success there is to have in this world. You are sorely needed and I know will serve as a model for all of us sex-positive people the world over! I will add a link to your party on my personal blog as well. People need to know about the good work you are doing in Canada.
Sincerely,
'Aspasia'
From JS April 17, 2005
My own opinion on the relation between sexuality and democracy is: " WE do not have a democracy unless we can walk in the nude down Robson Street without being arrested." I also believe that sexuality plays a great role in everyone's life and has become an important instrument of manipulation.
I am thrilled that there are people like you who have the courage to bring sex into politics. It is almost like Galilei who dared to deliver his findings that the Earth is not flat
nor is it the centre of the universe. It is already courageous being involved in politics
with any general agenda, and I had such exposure during the 1996 Provincial Election
on behalf of Gordon Wilson's Progressive Democratic Alliance. My budget was only $
200 of which $100 was the fee for my nomination as political candidate. I handed out 1000 brochures with my party's platform and obtained almost 1000 votes with them.
The key to a good election campaign is an excellent platform that appeals to the people and benefits them. Posters and pictures of candidates are not very important
and do not bring in the affect for the cost. What I found most difficult was the impact it had on the family acting as politician. It will be a tremendously difficult task to convert
the negativity of human sexuality into a positive agenda with a political message -- a
Galileian challenge of modern times -- to shift the focus from stars towards human intestines. However, I nevertheless will be looking forward to learning what your candidates will have to say throughout the following month of election ( or is it erection)
time.
The future trend will be one of human energies, or energies in general, to replace the discrepancy of gender, race, and religion. And maybe a SEX PARTY could be a good beginning!
Sincerely yours,
JS
From KD: April 13 The Sex Party
I am a long-time nude activist. I shall remain in the Green Party, but I welcome the existence of other parties.
May I suggest? Add to the platform:
1. Each public pool shall have at least one nude session per week (at least 2 hours).
2. In public and in private, breastfeeding is every child's right and every mother's right.
Alter the platform:
Nudity and paid dancers in bars should be banned. Then non-alcoholic nude nightclubs would spring up. Alcohol sales would drop. That would increase the safety of sex workers and all women. It would increase the prestige of nudity and increase acceptance of nudity. Alcoholism is promoted by linking nudity and alcohol.
